Hope I get everything done, I have so many plans and time flies.

I finished the orange bear with the exelsior filling and he feels a little bit crunchy now, I like it :)

Pretty old eyes

Sitting on his bag of wood shavings, this bear is still waiting for his ears to be sewn on.
I have been experimenting with exelsior wood filling to stuff this bear i.s.o. the polyester fiber I normally work with.
As you can see it makes a lot of mess, and dust too! :(
But in the end you get rewarded, because the stitching of the nose and claws is much easier with this kind of filling, but I recommend you try it out.Also, I find it easier to get the exact shape you want.

I found these antique eyes (wondering about on the internet)
and I like them a lot.
They come from an old stock of a long gone warehouse, there not really shoe buttons, just black glass ball's on wire, but still strong and all slightly different.

Now back to the ears, because the bear wants to enjoy my audiobook also.

Hope to work on the patterns some more in the next few days to adjust things here and there.

A new scarf (Tutorial)

I have knitted a lot of scarfs in my life for my husband and the children and they keep loosing them! :(
Ok, here a new one again, but I like mking this one,
I can use up left overs , and didn't need to go to the store to buy new wool.
I wanted to try a different pattern than usual and it turned out OK.It has a great effect.
It is very simple,

Here is the pattern:

choose different ossorted colours, take 2 or 4 colours that you are going to repeat more frequently to ake the colours come together.
Start in one colour :knit 1,one purl, knit 1,one purl, knit 1,one purl,.....
take another colour: Knit 2, purl 2, Knit 2, purl 2, Knit 2, purl 2,.........
another colour: knit 3, purl 3, knit 3, purl 3, knit 3, purl 3, knit 3, purl 3,.......
again change colour: Knit 2, purl 2, Knit 2, purl 2, Knit 2, purl 2,.........
other colour :knit 1,one purl, knit 1,one purl, knit 1,one purl,.....
and the again and again, never more than 3 stiches knit and purl,....
I have worked with wool, but I added some fine stripes of really fluffy mohair in between to give something extra in the design.
Those stripes I just knitted in the same stich, because you don't see the stitches anyway.
You can play with this pattern, it is really fun,
You can make stripes fatter or thinner, as you choose.

Use your imagination.

(I did my best to write this in English, but it will be full of mistakes, so please comment me as much as you like, so I can correct them)I like that, so I can learn.

This little guy was born a little bit as an accident. Actually I was trying to make a copy of a previous big pink bear I made earlier, but I ran out of Pink and tried to handdye some of my natural coloured mohair.

Somehow it turned out a little bit different than I expected and the mohair had schrunk so much that I had to use another colour to finish the bear, I never made a clown bear like this before, but I did not have any choice now, so here is Henry and well I like him as he is, I love the colours combined like this, and had autumn inspire me, His intended fresh pink had turned out to be the most lovely autumn orange that you can imagine.

I ordered some pink mohair in German already and I hope this time I will get the right colour, but well, no harm done.
Henry had already a big hug from me.

I couldn't resist to take some pictures, but the colours are not good in this poor light, I will take proper pictures tomorrow in daylight.

Weekend Going-Ons

Painting, dying and cooking,puffing chestnuts. My husband couldn't hold himself from making this wonderfull paëlla.
I made a huge chocolate tart, but everything is gone now, I can't take anymore pictures.

We finally managed to paint the studio, it is almost finished.
I posted about this projest almost 2 years ago, I made an altered picture with photoshop of how I wanted it to be "here"
And the last picture is just some dirt on the terras, but it reminded me of a pretty bird.
I am not sure what it is, I think its a crushed acorn and threads

She has the softest short pile mohair you can imagine, it is a pleasure to hug her, she is handdyed in a very deep and warm and sunny orange.

Some pictures of our first day in Sicily, Taormina

We had a short holiday in Sicily, in Taormina, it was really lovely, we stayed three nights, I know it's short, but better a short holiday than no holiday I guess.

Taormina is such a pretty place, and we had a flight directly from Brussels to Catania (not far from Taormina) So it was really worthed.

After a sweet breakfast in the local bar with capucino (the best)
Italians really have a sweet teeth for breakfast, and so have I, :)
to get rid of all the extra calories we started our first day with a walk in the public garden, it was beautyful.

This old hotel was really photogenic

We sunbathed on this little island (Bella isola) after our descent from almost 1 hour! I felt my legs, I can tell you that.
In the evening we took the cable lift to get back to the village center.

Bruges bear fair

Hi, I will post some pictures of the bear fair in Bruges,
It was not a succes I have to say,
The weather that week-end was so lovely, the best this summer, so just nobody came to the fair, after all this rain! GRRRRRRRR

Lucky for me I was very fortunated to meet a very sweet Russian lady, who sat next to me, she had wonderfull bears and had a shop in Praag. You can visit the shop "here "
Her name is Marina Dorogush and she also makes bears.

And it was so hot in the big room, but it was a lovely setting!

In the evening, me and my husband had a lovely meal in a good restaurant and we had a long late night walk.

I never visited Bruges in the dark, it was lovely, so funny to be tourist in your own country, I am not used to that,

Belgium is just to smal for that, but I loved it!

Look at the Belgium chocolat in that shop window!! Lucky for me, the shop was closed, or I had to have some, yummi :)

I am working at 5 bears at a time now, One is still sitting in the mohair and needs to be cut.
I have stitched 4 of them, one is almost stuffed and still needs some belly stuffing eyes and nose, That will be a fox!
Then I have 2 bunnies(a pink and a green) and 2 bears, a little red one, and a natural classic big one.
I have no idea what there names will be, colour eyes?
Nose?
They will all be OOAK :)
I plan to take them with me on the bear fair in Bruges,
That way I will have something to do, while I sit there.
Can't imagine just sitting there.

I am glad I took this pictures a couple of weeks ago.
The weather has been so bad in Belgium.
I have planted a lot of flowers to attract bees and to help them, there are so little of them left.

You really should think about this problem, we depend on them.

Almost finished and back to blogging

I have had so much work lately, that I didn't have a lot of time for blogging.

I nearly finished a big book, for my illustration work. 160 pages thick and a lot of drawings to make,(I hope to finish it tomorrow, and then i want to have a little celebration this week-end.)
so there was really no time left for bears and blogging.

But in the evenings, while I watch TV, I have gone one making some bears and I will share some pictures today.
I will gradually post them on bearpile and etsy. But, also, AND THIS IS IMPORTANT! on the new pussman&co shop
This is important for you to, because I will be listing the bears on this blog, with 5% discount.
This is to encourage people to buy directly from me.
The check-out system is the same as on bear pile.

I have been working in the garden a lot, the last 2 week-ends, the weather was super! Everything has got a real sun boost and is growing spectacular.

Already some colour in the garden, spring is my favorit!

I also have made some changes in my little bear studio, and am pleased about it, it is difficult to stay organised, especially with so much things in such a small house,
I am lucky my husband is a messmaker to, so he wont pick on me, about this :)
I have arranged a small photostudio in the corner of our living room (on top of a chinise box, with lots of drawers. I treasured it, but never really used it.), and with the help of a strong hanging lamp and a piece of paper, it's much easier to take my bear pictures.
The Chinese box is really great to keep all my stuff organised, like buttons, ribbons, scissors, little charms, glue, cotterpins, little books etc....

And i wrapped all my ribbons on cards and they look great!!
I really enjoy my little bear sudio.

And then off course! My two companions day in day out! Milan and Vroefke, they never leave my side.
Vroefke(the cat) really likes helping out and Milan(dog) is a good critic.

My sewing machine with no bears to stitch??
It will be like this for a while now.

I have so much work to do, all these illustrations, I can not see the end yet!
It has been already 2 months I work on the same book and still it's not finished.
160 pages and almost on every page a drawing!!!
And that's not the end, more work after that!

I woud love to cut down on my drawing work and spend more time, organising my bear making.

And my arm hurts from coloring with the wacom all day!!

Totally different but best friends.
They are both new patterns and I feel so happy about them.
It is very pleasent for me to be able to make some smaller projects to, to bring more differentiality into my work.
I like changing and work out new ideas, I hope you like Keith, the smaller one.
Baa bear is a lovely classic looking bear, he is so cuddly.
He has a firm feel, firmly stuffed like all my bears. He also has a growler that sounds very cute, when you flip him he does baaaauuua.
He will be up for adoption later in my etsy and bearpile shop.
I hope you like them both.
They are both gently aged to give them the worn look.

Hello let me present to you, Teddy Valentino!
He is made out of short pile German mohair, vintage looking.
His colour is a lovely warm orange, he has a brown cotton nose, bright glass eyes and is fully jointed with 5 cotter pins.
Teddy is stuffed with polyester fiber and a little bit of steel shot to give him extra weight.
I have made him a lovely felt valentine heart, that he wears proudly! He also has a bell,and two different coloulored ribbons to match his decorations.
The felt ball on the pictures is not included.

Teddy Valentino is looking for someone to adopt him.

I found this awesome tutorial when i was lookung around and really want to do this!This blog called "make it perfect" is all about sewing and looks great!
I have always wanted to use zippers, but am always afraid of them and this makes it seem ,not so hard?

VALENTINE. New Pattern, Mr. Longnoser.(adopted)

Mr.Longnoser is a hand dyed lovely green bear.
It's the first one off a new pattern I have designed and I am very pleased with it!
I wanted a longer snout and that has worked! I love his snout.
Longnoser is such a cute character and he loves it in the garden, he loves making long walks in green green woods.He has the perfect camouflage for it.
He is fully jointed with 5 cotter pins, has brilliant olive green glass eyes, a cotton nose, velvet paws and is stuffed with polyester fiber and steel shot to give him extra weight.
He has a worn ribbon and some charms and a valentine badge.
He hopes to find a good loving home.

Julian and Hopper(both adopted)

Hopper(green) 11" (27cm) is made from sparse, German hand dyed ohair,
It felt just right to make him a warm woolen scarf for those cold days now.
Hopper is fully jointed with cotterpins and filled with polyester fiber. His nose and paws are cotton,his eyes are glass.
Hopper is hoping to be adopted by someone nice and sweet.

Julian(blue) is made of hand dyed sparse mohair, he is 12"(30cm) tall and is fully jointed with cotterpins.
Julian has brown glass eyes and a woolen scarf,hold together with a badge. I crocheted a funny short trouser for him, and he was very happy.
He looks like a big boy, but, he still needs lots of hugging.
He is stuffed with polyester fiber and has a cotton nose and paws.

It took me a long time to decide, but I finally made the decision to sell patterns and kits.
It was a lot of work!!!
To write everything down and to draw out this neath patterns. A lot off photoshopping, typing and scanning. Made my head spin.
PFFFF.
I am now offering in my esy shop, a sewing kit to make a bear like Mooser.
I also have his PDF pattern in my shop!
